0. the cursed glasses ~ stray girl in her lenses A setting track. The Acolyte's Map is a (very) tongue-in-cheek fantasy story, differentiated from other additions to the genre in that it is very rare for anything to go un-snarked upon. So to establish the mood, I begin the mix with a song that tells a similarly fractured fantasy tale. 1. let's tell a fairy tale We are introduced to the world of the story. Clearly, exposition this sarcastic can only be backed by cute and childish music. 2. between the scratches Enter the map, a malevolent artifact that encroaches the consciousness of its holder and instills the obsessive need to hoard information like Smaug does treasure. It falls into the hands of an innocent acolyte. Excrement impacts the oscillating air movement device. 3. illusion Meet Raff. Raff would really just like to do his job, play pranks, make fun of people, and chill with his boyfriend and his bros. But life is having none of this, and it makes Raff a very sad panda. You know the thing about pandas? You probably don't want to mess with them unless you want your posterior handed to you. 4. fragment of happiness Raff gets in touch with headquarters and discusses what the messengers may be facing with a kind and knowledgeable priest. 5. troublemakers A plan is hatched. It seems like an opportunity to pull off one big prank from the perspective of Raff and his comrades, which suits them just fine. 6. rain shelter Raff finally gets to read his goddamn mail. 7. pane dhiria The day is saved. Probably. Maybe. For long enough that Raff will hopefully not have to deal with this crap again. |
